Following the recent suspension of Ibrahim Magu by President Muhammadu Buhari, a new Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Umar Mohammed has been appointed.

Umar Mohammed’s appointment was revealed by the News Agency of Nigeria who said according to a top official of the agency, Magu has been replaced.


The new EFCC Acting Chairman was the Director of Operations of the agency.

Magu’s probe that led to his suspension is based on no fewer than 24 allegations, many emanating from reports by Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami(SAN) and DSS submitted in 2016 and 2017 to the Senate.
