After months of shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has said anyone who does not wear a facemask or carries hand sanitizer would not be allowed to board the train.

Amaechi had announced on Saturday that the train stations will open on Wednesday July 29th, 2020.

The Abuja-Kaduna rail line, which has been shut down since March to curb the spread of the virus, will resume operations.

Speaking at the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 Press briefing on Monday, the minister said measures have been put in place to ensure that safety precautions are taken by train passengers.

The Minister added that if the preventive measures are not duly followed, the ministry will not hesitate to shutdown.
