Barely a week after he tendered his resignation, the former commissioner for Home Affairs in Lagos State, Dr. AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef, has returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Recall that Honourable Abdullateef in his Independence Day message had resigned over his governoship ambition.

Abdullateef had said: “Iyepe 2023, a movement created to galvanise Lagosians to develop more interest in politics and curb voter’s apathy, was rejected by some party leaders.

But on Wednesday, he met with leaders of the Lagos’ Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) and he decided to return to the party.

At the meeting which held in Ikeja, the state capital, party leaders acknowledged AbdulLateef’s concerns, prompting them to try and address the grievances that led to his resignation.

Leaders at the party were said to have reconciled the former commissioner and some party leaders who were said to have opposed Abdullateef’s Iyepe 2023 movement.

They noted that it was pertinent for all members to close ranks and work in unison for the party’s success.

Those in attendance at the meeting were Lagos APC chairman, Alhaji Tunde Balogun; leaders of GAC, including Prince Tajudeen Olusi; former Deputy Governor Abiodun Ogunleye, Prince Rabiu Oluwa, Alhaji Bushira Alebiosu, and Omoba Murphy Adetoro, among others.
