Following the end of tenure of Col. Muhammad Abdallah (rtd), on Monday, January 11, 2021, President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Brigadier-General Buba Marwa (rtd) as the New Director-General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

Marwa’s appointment as the New Director-General of NDLEA was announced on Friday.

Marwa is a retired Nigerian army officer who served as governor of Borno State, and then Lagos State during the military administrations of Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Sani Abacha.

Until his appointment, Marwa was the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Drug Abuse.
