The National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, has disclosed that Nigerians can now register for the COVID-19 vaccination via its website.

Executive Director of NPHCDA, Faisal Shuaib, disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja.

NPHCDA in a tweet said: “To register for #COVID19 Vaccination, visit our website and click on ‘COVID-19 Vaccination e-registration.”

Meanwhile, an advisory committee of the United States’ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had earlier recommended Johnson & Johnson’s coronavirus vaccine for widespread use, a final clearance for the shot after U.S. regulators authorized it Saturday.

State and local public health authorities will use Food and Drug Administration and CDC guidance as they administer the first four million doses.

Nigeria is expected to receive almost four million doses of the vaccine on Tuesday courtesy of COVAX, a global initiative backed by the World Health Organisation.

Minister of State for Health, Olorunnimbe Mamora, recently stated that frontline health workers would be one of the first set of people to get the vaccine.
