All Progressives Congress, APC, has fixed June 26 for the conduct of the Anambra governorship primary election.

The party’s Director of Organisation, Al-Mustapha Medaner, disclosed this in a schedule of activities for the election released on Thursday in Abuja. He said the governorship expression of interest form cost N2.5 million while the nomination form will be sold at N20 million.

Medaner said female and physically challenged aspirants will be given a 50 percent discount on the prescribed fees for the position.

He stated that the exercise will be done in accordance with the provisions of the 2010 Electoral Act as amended and the INEC guidelines.

According to him, the sale of forms will commence from April 15 to June 8 at the party’s national secretariat.

Medaner said the deadline for submission of the completed forms and accompanying documents is June 8, while the screening of aspirants will hold on June 10.

While stating that publication of claims and objections will be on June 12, he added that screening appeals will be on June 15 and election appeal will take place on June 30.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had earlier fixed November 6, 2021, for the governorship election in the state.
