Labour Rejects FG’s N25,000 Wage Increment For Only Low-Grade Workers

The organised labour has rejected the provisional wage increment announced by the President Bola Tinubu to cushion the effect of the removal of the petrol subsidy.

Tinubu on Sunday declared N25,000 provisional wage increment low-grade workers during his address to the nation to commemorate October 1st, the anniversary of Nigeria’s independence.

Labour is now demanding a total N25,000 as provisional wage increment for all treasury-paid federal government workers for six months.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have jointly called for an indefinite nationwide shutdown strike from October 3.
